Welcome to My Blog!

I am so honored and humbled to represent our beautiful Evergreen State as your Mrs. Washington 2010. The platform I have chosen to promote is "Embracing the Special Needs Child". As a mother of two special needs boys, I personally know both the challenges and joys in raising children with special needs. Most importantly I have learned how to become their number one advocate. As Mrs. Washington, I hope to educate and encourage parents of special needs children on how they too can become their child's best advocate.
The motto of the Mrs. Washington America Pageant is "Making a Difference". There is so much more to this pageant than just wearing a crown and sash; so I am thrilled to share with you my journey as I work to make a difference through appearances, community service and sharing advocacy tips for special needs families. God's blessings, Mrs. Washington 2010 - Carla Richards
