Making Strides Against Breast Cancer - South Sound 5k Walk sponsored by the American Cancer Society

Today (Saturday Oct. 9) I walked in honor of my husband's mother Kay Richards who passed away in August of 1987 after battling breast cancer. I never got a chance to meet my mother-in-law and my children never got a chance to meet their grandmother. Above is a picture of Kay and my father-in-law Ken Richards. I will forever be grateful to her for giving birth to her son - my husband Jeff Richards. We love you Grandma Kay and someday we will meet in Heaven!

So proud of our local University Place Girl Scouts for making a difference!

The ladies pictured above represented Curves at Canyon Road, Puyallup, WA. Their team name was "Tu Tu's for da Ta Ta's"! What a fun group! Just loved them!

My niece Rachel was one of the organizers of this amazing event! What a proud Auntie I am!

With team "Save our Sweater Stretchers"! Got to love the creativity of these team names!

We are officially registered as team "Mrs. Washington Pageant"! Left to right: Mrs. Pacific Northwest - Lisa Bluhm, myself and Mrs. Thurston County - Dionne Tarter.

What an honor to meet and celebrate Survivors of Breast Cancer! Standing to the right of Mrs. Pacific Northwest is Shirley, the daughter & granddaughter of survivors Trish and Betty to my left. What an inspiration these ladies are!

And we are off!

Half-way there!

Carol Rhodes cheering us to the finish line!
