Chris Elliot Fund Celebrity Golf Tournament

Checking in to golf at the 9th Annual Chris Elliot Celebrity Golf Tournament held at the beautiful TPC Snoqualmie Ridge Golf Course. Lisa Bluhm (Mrs. Pacific Northwest) and Tamara Deporter (Mrs. Seattle and Board Member of CEF) volunteered to help make this all possible.

Golfers practicing their putting skills before the tournament.

Pictured above with Dellann Elliot (Founder and President of CEF) and one of my golf partners for the day Stephanie Z. I had such a great time with Stephanie - I was in fabulous company!

Taking a practice swing before one of my shots. I just love the game of golf! Thanks to my Dad for teaching me how to play the game as a little girl. It is a wonderful way to keep the memory of my Dad alive since his passing in 2002. I have so many fun memories of him on the golf course.

FORza 009 Ride to Remember

My hometown Lakewood Police Department

FORza riders gathering to meet at the Lakewood Police Department to honor the our fallen police officers. The "FOR" stands for Fallen Officers Ride and the "za" is in remembrance of the Forza Coffee Shop in Parkland - the sight of the worst single incident of officer fatalities in the State of Washington, which involved four Officers of the Lakewood Police Department last November 2009.

Today I brought and helped served some snacks and refreshments for the riders. Lakewood was their second stop today along their route of honoring our fallen officers across the State of Washington.

What a honor it is to stand along the side of our finest! Most of the riders involved in today's ride are active and retired Police Officers themselves.

Pictured above with Liz Jackson - Founder and Director of Hero to Hero U.S. -a group that honors our first responders all across the United States.

Clayton Powell (far left) - the mastermind and organizer of today's FORza Ride to Remember presenting the Lakewood Police Department memorial mats in honor of our of Lakewood's Four Fallen Police Officers - Sgt. Mark Renninger, Officer Ronald Owens, Officer Tina Griswold and Officer Gregory Richards.

Couldn't resist a picture next to a Rider and his Harley!

The ladies behind the badge! These ladies are wives of police officers and members of the Tacoma Police Family Association. They were great hostesses in providing drinks and snacks for the Riders.

Washington is a Beautiful Place to Live!

This is the view I had this morning as I went for my morning jog. This picture of Steilacoom Lake with Mount Rainier in the background was taken off of the Steilacoom Bridge. I am so blessed to call this my neighborhood. What a honor it is to represent the beautiful State of Washington!

Baseball Season in Full Swing!

My husband Jeff is the Baseball Coach for Kenny and Cody's team this summer - I am blessed my boys have a Daddy that is so involved in their lives along with making a difference in the lives of other children as well. He really has a gift when it comes to coaching kids!
Cody cute as ever! He is having so much fun learning the game of Baseball!

Kenny did a great job pitching for his team!

Coach Jeff and his team getting ready to congratulate the other team on a great game!

Making A Difference Is What It's All About!

The Richards family has been quite busy these past few weeks. Along with posting my appearances as Mrs. Washington, I am also posting my family's community service. Being crowned Mrs. Washington means so much more to me than just a crown and sash, it is about using my title to be of service to others. Matter of fact, the motto of the Mrs. Washington Pageant is "Making a Difference". I am so proud to be representing a pageant system that puts so much emphasises on community service. Enjoy the following posts!

Operation Homefront's School Supply Drive at Dollar Tree Nationwide

Next time you are at Dollar Tree, consider donating school supplies to Operation Homefront.
These supplies will then be distributed to local military children. It is a great way to say thank you to our military families for their service.
I am a pick up and delivery volunteer for Operation Homefront's School Supply Drive. Above my son Kenny and I are pictured with the Spanaway Dollar Tree Store's Manager Mary Bell.
She and her employees are doing a fantastic job - I was shocked at the amount of school supplies they have collected in such short period of time. Thank you Mary Bell and staff of Spanaway Dollar Tree!

As you can see we are loaded down with boxes of school supplies. What a blessing!

Busy unloading boxes and getting ready to fill my van.

This my second full load that I will deliver in less than a week. My van is full!

I got to be the Assistant Den Leader to the Webelos Den. I such a fun time working with their leader Jamie and just got a kick out these boys! We had a great group!
My husband Jeff was the Sports and Games Station Leader and is busy coaching a game of flag football above. I think this was the most popular station at camp. The boys couldn't wait to get to Sports and Games!

Kenny volunteered as well as the Den Chief for his Cody's Bear Den. He did such a great job and is learning how to be a leader. We are so proud of both of our boys!

This was my favorite station - Archery with Marsh Mellow Shooters! What a blast!

Joint Base Lewis McChord Air Show

My family and I along with my brother-in-law Vince, my nieces Kaleah and Jazzlynn, and my cousin Brad in front of the F-22 Raptor. My husband, Jeff, works as an F-22 Modification Analyst with the Boeing Co. He had a great time educating the family on this awesome aircraft.

Posing in front the VAQ 129 Fighting Viking's E-18 Growler. My husband Jeff actually belongs to the VAQ 129 Fighting Viking's unit stationed at Whidbey Island. He serves as a Aeronautical Duty Officer overseeing this aircraft. Just had to get a picture in front of one of his jets!

The C-17 Globemaster - the other lady in Jeff's life that has taken him all over the world while serving in the Iraq War. Jeff served as a C-17 Loadmaster in the Air Force Reserves before crossing over to the Navy and also worked as a C-17 Simulator Technician with the Boeing Co. He knows this lady well!
The Patriots performing their amazing aerial demonstration! What a show!

With my boys and nieces in front the jet engine of a C-5 Cargo Airplane.

Thank you to our men and women in uniform for putting on such a spectacular air show!
We are the "Land of the Free because of the Brave". God Bless our Soldiers!

4th Annual Jack Larson Memorial Golf Tournament

Every year my family gets together on the golf course to compete in the Annual Jack Larson Memorial Golf Tournament. We do this in honor of my Dad, Jack Larson, who went to be with the Lord in 2002. We hold the tournament at Highland Hill Golf Course in Tacoma, WA where my Dad taught all of his children the great game of golf.
Very rarely are all of my siblings able to be together in the same place at the same time. However, we make this golf tournament a priority in remembering our Dad. Above from left to right is my sister Karen, my brother Mike, myself, my sister Patti, my Mother Dolores and my sister Valerie. I am blessed.

This year my brother Mike took home the honors of winning the Golf Tournament along with bragging rights for a whole year. Basking in victory as he kisses the coveted family trophy which gets to sit on his mantle until next year's tournament - and then it's up for grabs again!

My brother Mike and his court: my Uncle Cliff (2nd Runner-up), Mike (2010 Champion), Mike's son Harris (4th Runner-up) and my sister Patti's son Brenton (3rd Runner-up). Past winners include myself (2007), Brenton's wife Kristen (2008) and my nephew Harris (2009).

Happy 25th Anniversary David and Pamela Curnel!

Had the honor to be a part of David and Pamela Curnel's 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration in Moses Lake, WA. David and Pamela are my wonderful Directors of the Mrs. Washington America Pageant. I am so thrilled to see a couple still truly in love after all of these years - that is what marriage is all about - commitment at it's finest!
It was so nice to see my pageant sisters again. From left to right: Lisa Bluhm (Mrs. Pacific Northwest), Patty Holloway (Mrs. Moses Lake), myself, Jessica Riggs (Mrs. Snohomish County) and Tamara Deporter (Mrs. Seattle).

Kind of a blurry pic - hope to get another one sent to me of us. From left to right: myself (Mrs. Washington 2010), Beth Kovacevich (Mrs. Washington 1996) and Kristal Grimstead (Mrs. Washington 2003).

Had the pleasure of meeting a long time friend of Pam's - Scott Ramsey. I so enjoyed visiting with this man - found myself another golf enthusiast - someday my hubby and I we will have to play a round of golf with him!
Now what a dancer this boy is! He had quite the moves on the dance floor! Here I am with Scottland (the son of Scott Ramsey pictured above). What a great kid - so polite!
