Celebrating Earth Day!

My Cub Scout Pack 53 celebrated Earth Day 2010 by volunteering to clean up the beach at American Lake Park. We had about a dozen Cub Scouts participate from our Pack. It looked so beautiful when we were done. I am hoping to post pictures soon as I accidentally erased mine, so I am waiting on pictures to be sent to me from another parent who also volunteered with our Cubbies to make a difference in our community.

Walmart Kids Fair Benefiting the Children's Miracle Network of Spokane

Our Director Pamela Curnel, Mrs Washington Elizabeth Larsen and fellow contestants meeting at Michaels Market and Bistro in Moses Lake before heading out to the Kids Fair.
Mrs. Olympia (Irene Shade) and I manning the Digging for Dinosaurs station.

This was such a fun event. The kids loved Digging for Dinosaurs - it was a huge hit! Here I am with "Prince Charming" himself - at least that's what his shirt said and I believe it - what a cutie!

My Little Inspirations!

Cody and Kenny Richards - My little inspirations! They have taught me so much. It is because of their special needs that I have learned to become a better parent and a stronger person. They amaze me everyday how they overcome and shine despite their challenges. I am so proud of my boys!

April Cub Scout Pack Meeting

Cody earned his Scouting for Food and Recycling Badge tonight along with his Citizenship Belt Loop and Astronomy Belt Loop!

Cubmaster Carla got to dress up like an Indian tonight and play the part of Akela during our awards ceremony. It was so much fun!

April - Autism Awareness Month

My beautiful boy Cody! I just love this picture! (It was taken over a year ago when he had his two front teeth on his wish list for Santa :). Cody was officially diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder shortly before this picture was taken. However, I already knew my son was "special" (nobody had to tell me that - look how cute he is!) and I praise God for him everyday - he brings so much joy to our family! This month we celebrate our Autistic children and adults by bringing Awareness that there is hope and help along the way. Visit http://www.autismsocietyofwa.org/ and find ways how you can learn more about autism.
